Straetofolk
The Straetofolk are humble, jovial humanoids composed entirely of cloud vapor. Their soft, fluffy exteriors are held together by the force of their will. Residing primarily in their home kingdom of Straetos, they have a long, proud, storied history spanning back hundreds of years in Kern.
Attributes
[edit | edit source]Ability Score Increase. One ability score of your choice increases by 2, and two ability scores of your choice increase by 1.
Age. Straetofolk begin their extremely long lifespans as humanoids, born as babies that reach maturity around the same time as humans do. After roughly 120 years, Straetofolk have a chance to assimilate into the air and become Sentient Clouds, representing almost an ‘afterlife’ for them. Sentient Clouds can be enormous, weigh billions of pounds, and live for unbelievably long periods of time.
Creature Type. You are considered a humanoid.
Alignment. Straetofolk are jovial and observant by nature, which typically leads them away from Evil-alignments. The best of the Straetofolk are staunchly pacifist and the most violent ones are hesitant and reluctant towards using force or cruel tactics.
Size. Straetofolk are humanoids that are roughly the same size as regular people, though with more variance (~3’-7’ tall). If your height is less than 4’11”, your size is Small; otherwise, your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Change Form. Once per long rest, you can use an action to cast the Gaseous Form spell. You can cast this spell twice starting at 7th level, and three times starting at 15th level.
Lightning Immunity. You are immune to Lightning damage.
