Trident of Levi

From Legends of Kern

Magical item, trident, requires attunement, Legendary

An elegant, moderately-sentient golden trident with a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls that emanates a holy feeling about it. On the base of the fork part, from which the prongs diverge, is the glyph of a lightning bolt.

To attune to this item, the trident must dub you “worthy”. If you are not worthy, the trident cannot be lifted or moved from the ground by any means at all.

Flying Weapon. You gain an advantage on attack rolls made with this weapon that rely upon throwing it, and you may telekinetically summon it back to your hand with a bonus action from any distance as long as it is on the same plane of existence as you.

Holy Surge. You can cast the Chain Lightning spell at will. The spell is evoked from the tips of the trident. If you have no spell save DC, the check is equal to 10 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier.

Atmospheric Wrath. On a 19 or 20 attack roll, you can cast Lightning Bolt at 7th level at one target within range that you can see. If you choose the target you threw the spear at, they take an additional 2d6 Lightning damage. If you have no spell save DC, the check is equal to 10 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier.

Exorcise. Any Evil-aligned creature that takes damage of any type from this weapon take an addition 1d8 bonus Lightning damage. If the target is an undead, fiend, devil, or demon, this bonus damage increases by another 1d8.

Moderate Sentience. The Trident of Levi is moderately-sentient, the purpose of which is only for deciding if a potential wielder is worthy, so it cannot verbally or telepathically communicate anything to anyone. It is aligned Neutral Good. It has an Intelligence of 2, Wisdom of 25, and Charisma of 2.
