Agarthan Mortar

Agarthan Mortar, also known as antimagic concrete, is the purported name of a legendary substance described in mythology that is most-similar to modern day concrete, but many orders of magnitude stronger, lighter, and completely impervious to the vast majority of all magic. In lore, only the gods were capable of affecting it with magic, and even so, only by small amounts. Though in the modern day, no confirmed specimens officially exist by academic standards, there are rumors that different alchemists in the world have cracked the code and reverse-engineered the recipe.

History

Agarthan Mortar was first described over 1,000 years ago in a scroll written by an ancient poet. Its properties were described as being both half the weight of regular concrete, five times as strong, and able to completely nullify all magic touching it, as though a small, short, permanent antimagic field spell was cast over it. In the scroll, an Agarthan alchemist named Gilgamesh perfected the recipe over the course of 50 years before eventually deeming it complete. The concrete was then used to fortify the Agarthan kingdom against the attacks of an evil necromancer.
