Various countries at different points in history have attempted to colonize or claim the settlement, but each time the mafia was able to repel the invaders. Roughly 40 years before the events of the [[Keith Presents: The Silly Campaign, Volume II\|first campaign]], an international law was passed declaring the fishing settlement to be a protected, sovereign land belonging to the siluriformuloids.
