Editing Expanded Challenge Ratings

In vanilla D&D, a creature's '''challenge rating''' is an estimated numerical score assigned to them that represents how difficult an encounter with that creature would be for a party of four player characters whose level is the challenge rating. Normally, challenge rating goes from 0 and maxes out at 30, with 30 being reserved for only 3 creatures. In this homebrew, however, there are [[List of Major NPCs|numerous NPCs]] whose attributes and abilities make it necessary for the challenge rating to extend beyond 30 and max out at 50.

This does not necessarily mean a group of player characters will literally reach 50th level to be able to have a "moderate challenge" in fighting a CR 50 creature, but rather as a very rough estimate for the purpose of power scaling. This homebrew also features a number of [[List of Homebrew Items#Legendary Items|extremely overpowered items]] that very easily tip the scales in the players' favor without having to go to levels beyond 20. In fact, in many of the campaigns I've run before, my players have been able to defeat many of these NPCs from anywhere from 16th to 20th level.
